Looking for a fun and friendly way to stay active and meet new people? Look no further than our local adult recreational ice hockey club! With an estimated 1,750 players and 75 teams (and growing!), we are not only one of the largest leagues in Ohio, but also one of the most welcoming. *
Whether you’re a complete novice or a more experienced player, we have a division for you. We welcome players of all ages, including those aged 40, 50, 60+ years old, as well as anyone 16 years or older who has always wanted to try this exciting sport. We even have returning players who have been off the ice for years, so don’t worry if you’re a bit rusty.
Our games are played at Northland Ice Center and Queen City Sportsplex, and our friendly staff and members are always on hand to help you with your equipment needs. Don’t have any equipment? No problem! Northland Pro Shop has everything you need to get started.
At CAHL, we are proud to be a co-ed league with many women players, and we believe that everyone should have the chance to try this great sport without fear of embarrassment or criticism. Sure, new players might fall on their own their first few times, but with protective equipment, it won’t hurt! So don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or sign up using our Free Agent Application. We can’t wait to see you on the ice!

FAQ
How much does it cost?
Actual cost per player varies depending on how many players are on your team and your team captains’ payment policies. Talk to your team captain for details. If you still don’t have a team, please fill out the New Player Application at https://www.cincyahl.com/register/player to get on the “Free Agent” waiting list.
Where are games played?
When Are Games Played?
Game Days: See Divisional Information
Game Times: Most games are 6pm or later on weekdays and 4pm or later on weekends. Games could start as late as 10:30pm weekdays and 11:30pm on weekends (Fri & Sat nights). There will occasionally be a 1pm – 3pm weekend game, especially during playoffs when ice time is limited.
How many players are on a team?
Having a set cost per team allows each team to set the number of players (and thus cost per person). It can vary from 10 to 15 but some games you may find are played with 7-10 skaters, especially on teams wanting the ice time.
Is there open hockey / stick time?
Both Northland Ice Center and Queen City Sportsplex have public open session for hockey.
Are we a "USA Hockey" Organization
No, we are an independent club with no affiliation. This helps keep the costs lower than those leagues who do. It is up to the team to keep and track their own statistics if they wish to.
CAHL Levels of Play
We label our divisions from 1 to 5 with sub-levels a-d, we have recently also used “north” and “south” to provide more organization is divisions with large amounts of teams. See Divisional Information for a more detailed outline.
